Praia do Forte Tour
Description
Experience the exotic allure of Bahia through the Praia do Forte tour, where you will encounter the Tamar Project and the Humpback Whale Institute. This adventure is sure to delight!
Details of the Tour
Once we pick you up from your designated hotel, we will embark on a journey to discover one of Brazil's coastal gems: Praia do Forte. Often referred to as the Brazilian Polynesia, this locale harmoniously merges the nostalgic charm of a traditional fishing village with the lively atmosphere of its visitors.
Upon arrival, we will unveil the captivating essence of this area located in northwestern Salvador de Bahia. Following this, you will have 4 hours of leisure time to wander through its picturesque streets and vibrant houses, encouraging a leisurely exploration. You can also discover local craft boutiques, lively bars featuring Bahian music, and restaurants filled with the delightful scents of moqueca and passion fruit.
One of the must-visit locations at Praia do Forte is the Tamar Project, an innovative center dedicated to the conservation of sea turtles. Every year, thousands of hatchlings are released from here as they embark on their journey into the ocean. Visitors can view their tanks and aquariums, getting a close look at these fascinating creatures while learning about the community's conservation initiatives.
Additionally, a visit to the Humpback Whale Institute is highly recommended; it is the only facility in Brazil focused entirely on the conservation of humpback whales. During this visit, you will gain insights into the behaviors of these majestic marine mammals, which migrate to the Bahian coast every winter to breed.
You will also have the chance to relax at Praia do Forte’s main beach, enjoy the soothing waters, and soak up the sun. As the day comes to a close, the sunset creates a stunning display, gilding the horizon and merging beautifully with the Atlantic's blue—a perfect opportunity for memorable photographs!
After our time together, we will reconvene for our return journey to the hotel, wrapping up the tour approximately 8 hours after our initial pickup.
