Chiang Rai Private Trekking
Description
Explore the breathtaking mountainous terrains of northern Thailand through an engaging trekking experience in Chiang Rai. Spend two to three days navigating rice fields, tea estates, and charming rural communities.
Chiang Rai Trekking Overview
Day 1
Your journey kicks off at 10 am with a pickup from your accommodation in Chiang Rai, followed by a trip to the bank of the Kok River. Here, you will board a traditional longtail boat and embark on a scenic cruise along this vital waterway for approximately one hour. After disembarking, an encounter with the local Karen hill tribe members awaits, offering insight into their lifestyle in northern Thailand. A filling meal at a local eatery will help revive us for the hike ahead.
Post-lunch, we'll commence our trekking adventure, meandering through verdant rice paddies and bamboo groves, eventually arriving at a viewpoint that reveals stunning vistas of the lush mountainous region. Our trek continues through vibrant tropical forests until we reach the village of Yafu, where we'll receive a warm welcome from the Lahu hill tribe and enjoy a sumptuous dinner before resting for the night in a cozy bamboo cabin.
Day 2
A nutritious breakfast sets the stage for a two-hour trek toward another hill tribe village. Upon arrival, our guide will show us how to prepare a delicious meal using a traditional bamboo cooking method. After lunch, you can unwind and rejuvenate at nearby hot springs, a perfect way to ease tired muscles after a day of exploration.
As our two-day mountain adventure in northern Thailand concludes, we will return to your accommodations in Chiang Rai.
Three-Day Trek Option
During the booking process, you can opt for a two-day trek or extend your experience with a three-day trek around Chiang Rai. Should you choose the three-day itinerary, on the second day, we will visit the stunning Huay Mae Sai Waterfalls and engage with the Akha hill tribe.
For the second night, we will swap the bamboo cabins for tents, staying close to Yafu village. Our final day involves trekking to a Karen village and visiting the hot springs, a perfect conclusion to our adventure. By 3 pm on the third day, you will be taken back to your hotel in Chiang Rai.
Accommodation During the Tour
If you opt for the two-day trekking adventure, one night's stay in a bamboo cabin with the Lahu hill tribe is included. However, if you select the three-day trek, accommodations on the second night will be in tents.
