Embark on an adventure through the Amazon rainforest as you journey to the captivating Ugarteche River basin. This excursion presents the opportunity to discover stunning natural wonders, including the striking Neptune Falls, amidst the vibrant surroundings.

Day Trip to the Ugarteche River Basin

After collecting you from your hotel in Tingo María, we will begin our 30-minute drive to the Hermilio Valdizán district.

Nestled in eastern Peru, the Ugarteche River flows through a region renowned for its abundant flora and freshwater springs, framed by lush landscapes.

Upon arrival, we will embark on a 1-hour trek through the verdant jungle, aiming to uncover the treasures of the Ugarteche River basin. Along the way, we’ll observe a variety of plant and animal species, gaining insights into the various tropical crops and rich biodiversity characteristic of this section of the Amazon rainforest.

During our hike, expect to encounter stunning waterfalls and pristine natural pools, including the dazzling Neptune Falls. Here, we will pause, allowing you to unwind and enjoy a refreshing swim in this picturesque setting.

Following our rejuvenating stop in this remarkable environment, we will retrace our steps back toward the outer edge of the jungle, where our transportation will be awaiting us. We aim to return you to Tingo María and conclude the day at approximately 3 pm.
