Description

Our journey begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Ovalle, proceeding towards the Valle del Encanto, a notable archaeological area situated approximately 20 km (12.5 miles) from the town center.

The adventure kicks off as we observe the petroglyphs that adorn the Valle del Encanto. Historians suggest that these intricate stone engravings may be linked to the Molle culture. Throughout our visit, we'll delve into the unique aspects of this ancient civilization, tracing its roots back over 2,000 years.

As we advance through this archaeological site, we will take the opportunity to examine the various remnants of stone castings. On these rock surfaces, a series of circular concavities etched into the stone will capture our attention. While some believe these markings were utilized for food preparation, others argue they served ritualistic purposes.

Next, we will traverse the prehistoric site, uncovering the true purpose of these stone castings, which are scattered throughout central Chile and its neighboring areas.

As our visit concludes, we will make our way back to your hotel in Ovalle, arriving around 1 pm.
