Excursion to Villa Carlos Paz

Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Córdoba at the designated time, as we set off westward towards Villa Carlos Paz. En route, we will drive past the barracks of the Argentine Army, eventually reaching the charming town of La Calera. Here, you will discover the intriguing tale behind the town’s name.

The journey continues as we traverse the Suquía River Gorge, nestled within the Sierras Chicas mountains. Following this route, we will take the Camino de las Usinas, a path named for the hydroelectric plants that thrived in this region throughout the 19th century. These plants are situated around the San Roque reservoir, once recognized as the largest dam in the world!

Next, we will navigate the scenic 100-Curve Road leading us into Villa Carlos Paz. Upon our arrival in this picturesque town beside Lake San Roque, we will stroll through its streets to familiarize ourselves with the area. A highlight of our visit will be the Cuckoo Clock, constructed in 1958, where you will learn about its captivating backstory.

Afterward, you may opt to take the renowned Villa Carlos Paz chairlift (not included), offering breathtaking panoramas of the surroundings. The return to your Córdoba hotel will occur approximately four hours after our initial pickup.
