Tour Details

At the designated meeting point, we will gather at the Edmund Burke Statue, situated in the lively center of Dublin. If history captivates you, this is an experience you won’t want to overlook!

Our journey begins at the revered site of the renowned Celtic manuscript. Regarded as 'the most cherished artifact in the western world,' the Book of Kells boasts an impressive age of over 1,200 years and stands as a prime example of medieval artistry.

Located within the walls of Trinity College's Old Library, this manuscript features a Latin rendition of the four gospels. Throughout our visit, we will delve into the book's origins, explore its rich symbolism, examine the detailed painting techniques that helped create this cultural jewel, and discuss the important contributions of monks and Vikings in safeguarding its legacy.

After immersing ourselves in the captivating details of the Book of Kells for about 40 minutes, you’ll have approximately 10 minutes to explore the Trinity College shop at your leisure. Our next stop will take us to the statue of Molly Malone, where we will pause for a brief moment to uncover the intriguing backstory of this iconic figure.

Following this, we will proceed to the heart of Dublin to discover its magnificent castle. Originally constructed atop a historic Viking settlement in the 13th century, Dublin Castle has held numerous roles, including that of a fortress, prison, treasury, court of justice, and even the center of English authority in Ireland.

During the 50-minute exploration, we will circle the entire castle, admiring its intricate architecture and notable features. Highlights will include the Record and Octagonal Towers along with the stunning surrounding gardens.

As we conclude this enriching tour after approximately 3 hours, we will end our journey in close proximity to Dublin Castle. Slán!
