Excursion to Berat from Durrës
Your journey begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Durrës, preparing you for an immersive experience into the rich tapestry of Albanian history.
After a travel time of approximately 1.5 hours, you will reach Berat, aptly named the city of a thousand windows. This renowned moniker will become evident as you arrive. We will traverse the Gorica Bridge, connecting the historic neighborhoods of Mangalem and Gorica over the gently flowing Osum River.
As we navigate through the charming alleys of Mangalem, our path leads us to Berat Castle, where a guided exploration awaits. This fortress, shaped by the influence of Illyrians, Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans through ages, will reveal tales of its storied past.
Once we conclude our visit to the castle, you will enjoy 1 hour of free time to savor the local culinary delights of Albanian cuisine. Afterward, we will proceed to visit another significant attraction: the Bachelor's Mosque, recognized as a Cultural Monument of Berat since 1961.
In conclusion, we will return to the original meeting point, completing the entire experience in approximately 8.5 hours.
