Rosslyn Chapel and the Borders Day Trip
Beginning at Edinburgh Castle, your journey takes you out of the city and into the quaint village of Roslin, where the first highlight awaits: Rosslyn Chapel.
Often referred to as the "Library in Stone", the interior walls of Rosslyn Chapel boast countless intricate carvings, each telling its own unique narrative. Discover the enchanting myths and legends associated with the chapel, which include stories of the Knights Templar. The chapel gained significant attention due to its reference in "The Da Vinci Code", the famous novel by Dan Brown.
After departing Rosslyn, your journey continues into the picturesque Scottish Borders, an area renowned for its rolling hills, lush valleys, and rich rugby heritage. Arriving in the historic town of Melrose, known as the birthplace of Rugby Sevens, you will also explore the majestic Melrose Abbey, established in 660 AD and believed to house the heart of Robert the Bruce. Here, enjoy a leisurely lunch and free time to wander through Melrose and its historic abbey.
On the return trip, relish the scenic vistas as you traverse the borders. The final destination is one of the Lowland's renowned distilleries, Glenkinchie. Participate in an informative tour that walks you through the whisky-making process and history, concluding with a chance to taste some of the distillery's exceptional malts.
