The 24-hour ticket provides access solely to the red line, ideal for an overview of the city’s main attractions.
If you're looking for a more comprehensive experience, consider the 48-hour ticket, allowing access to both the red and blue lines.
- Red Line: Serving as the primary route, it traverses the Old Town and the Georgian New Town, passing remarkable landmarks such as the Castle, Holyroodhouse, Dynamic Earth, and the Scottish Parliament. From March 30 to May 24, 2026, it operates daily from 9 am to 6:05 pm, with departures every 15 minutes until 5 pm and every 20 minutes until 6:05 pm. The total journey lasts around 1 hour and 10 minutes. Between May 25 and October 25, 2026, service is available daily from 9 am to 6:20 pm, with buses every 10 minutes until 5 pm and every 20 minutes until 6:20 pm.
- Blue Line: This route caters to the northern part of Edinburgh, ideal for those wanting to explore the port region and the Leith neighborhood. Highlights along the way include the Royal Yacht Britannia, the former residence of Queen Elizabeth II while afloat, the Royal Botanic Garden, and the Robert Burns Monument. The entire journey takes roughly 55 minutes. From March 30 to October 25, 2026, the service runs daily with hourly departures from 9:05 am to 6:05 pm.

Your ticket remains valid for 24 or 48 consecutive hours from the moment it is first used. Throughout this period, you may hop on and off as often as you desire at any of the stops. While a start date is required during booking, the service can be utilized for up to 2 weeks following the specified date.
