The validity of the ticket starts from the first day it is activated. You can make use of it throughout the next 48 hours. For instance, should you activate the ticket on a Monday at noon, it will remain valid until 11:59 am on Wednesday.

This castle is open every day with the following hours:

The Royal Yacht is accessible daily at these times:

Please note that the palace is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, except during the period from May 25 to September 8, when it operates daily.

Additionally, the palace will be closed from May 12 to May 20, and from June 26 to July 3, 2026. However, during these dates, holders of the Royal Edinburgh Ticket will be admitted to The King's Gallery and its temporary exhibits. This includes access to The Edwardians, showcasing the elegance and sophistication of the Edwardian period as seen through the lens of two notable British royal couples.

Edinburgh Tour Bus Schedule

The sightseeing bus operates daily from April 2 to October 28, running from 9:06 am to 5:54 pm, with buses departing every 12 minutes.

This bus runs daily from April 2 to October 28, from 9 am to 5:30 pm, with departures every 15 minutes.

City Sightseeing Edinburgh Schedule
