Description
Should your journey to the Scottish capital be via cruise, you will have a unique chance to delve into the rich heritage of the city with this Edinburgh Shore Excursion. Discover significant landmarks such as Holyrood House, the Royal Mile, and the iconic Castle.
Edinburgh Shore Excursion
At 9:30 am, we will gather at Castle Terrace, situated in the heart of Edinburgh, to commence our exploration of the city. The tour will navigate through the city center, taking in the charming narrow alleys of the Old Town and offering breathtaking vistas from Arthur's Seat.
We will kick off the experience at the Royal Yacht Britannia, which served as the royal vessel for the British monarchy from 1954 to 1997.
Next, we will stroll along the impressive Royal Mile, making our way to Edinburgh Castle. Here, you will have the option to enter this historic site, awarded the title of the UK's best heritage attraction in 2014, where notable features like the Stone of Destiny and the traditional coronation seat await your discovery.
Following our castle visit, you'll be granted some free time for refreshments before our journey continues to Castlehill. This area boasts the city’s oldest street, just off the Royal Mile, and is home to other significant attractions including St Giles' Cathedral.
Our next destination will be the Palace of Holyrood House, the official residence of the British Royal Family in Scotland. Here, you will have the chance to explore the residence of Mary, Queen of Scots. The tour will then proceed to New Town, known for its stunning architecture and delightful streets.
We will conclude our tour at 5 pm, ensuring a timely return to the port.
