Details of the Day Trip

Your journey starts with a pick-up service from your accommodation in Esquel, where we'll board the bus and set out along the Ruta Nacional 259, a renowned route through the stunning landscapes of Patagonia. Let's set off!

Our first destination is Trevelin, affectionately known as the "Windmill Town," a pivotal location for Argentina’s Welsh community. After a scenic 30-minute ride, we’ll enjoy a 40-minute guided tour that showcases iconic landmarks, including the town’s charming main square, which features historic buildings that tell the story of its early settlers. You will also see the esteemed Capilla Bethel, a testament to the unity of the Trevelin community.

Next on our adventure is the Nant and Falls Protected Natural Area. Here, we'll embark on a moderate hike through the breathtaking Patagonian forest. This one-hour journey will take you past the Cascada Larga and allow you to marvel at the dual beauty of the Cascadas Mellizas and the graceful Cascada Petiza. Prepare to connect deeply with the authentic essence of Patagonia!

Continuing our exploration, we arrive at the Nant Fach Windmill, a faithful reconstruction of the historic flour mills that once symbolized the valley's prosperous wheat production era. Here, we will visit its museum and discover ancient tools while learning about the captivating history of the Welsh settlers over the course of an hour. You might be surprised to learn that this region used to export top-quality flour to Europe!

Our final destination will be Viñas Nant y Fall, recognized as one of the world's southernmost vineyards. You'll enjoy an enlightening 1-hour tour of the vineyard's facilities, where you'll uncover the secrets behind its production, culminating in a glass of exquisite wine to enhance your experience.

As our day concludes, we will head back to your hotel, where we will part ways approximately 5 hours after the initial pick-up.

Visit to a Tulip Field

Should your trip occur between October 7 and November 7, the itinerary will be adjusted. Alongside the panoramic tour of Trevelin, we will include a visit to a local tulip field. You'll have leisure time to capture photographs and take in the picturesque surroundings.

This visit will take place prior to or following the exploration of the Nant y Fall waterfalls and vineyards. The tour will wrap up as we return to your hotel in Esquel, arriving about 7.5 hours after the start of our adventure.
