Caminito del Rey Excursion
Description
Experience the breathtaking walkways of the renowned Caminito del Rey on this day trip from Estepona, where you'll traverse a footbridge that spans the stunning Gaitanes Gorge.
Caminito del Rey Adventure
Your journey starts with a pickup at your chosen time on Avenida Litoral in Estepona, setting off towards the Conde de Guadalhorce reservoir. Nestled within the heart of the Málaga province lies the iconic Caminito del Rey.
Upon arriving, you'll discover the rich history of this trail, inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII in 1921. After equipping yourselves with safety helmets, you will embark on an exhilarating walk along the Caminito del Rey. This impressive wooden pathway is suspended at an elevation of nearly 330 feet (100 meters) above the Guadalhorce River.
The path, just over 3 feet (1 meter) wide, offers breathtaking panoramic vistas of the Gaitanes Gorge. You will traverse a distance of 1.9 miles (3 km), completing the trek in approximately two and a half to three hours, with planned stops allowing you to soak in the awe-inspiring surroundings at your own pace.
We will pause at various viewpoints to snap pictures of the beautiful Guadalhorce reservoir and the majestic Málaga mountains. This extraordinary experience culminates as we return to the trail's starting point, where you'll enjoy an hour to relax and recharge—remember to bring your picnic lunch!
Finally, we will head back to the pickup location in Estepona, with a total duration of approximately 10 hours from the beginning of your adventure.
