Baptistery & Duomo Museum Tour + Giotto's Bell Tower
Our journey commences at the designated meeting point in Piazza del Duomo, where we will dive into a guided experience of two emblematic sites in Florence: the Baptistery of St. John and the Opera del Duomo Museum. Are you ready for an awe-inspiring adventure?
We will first arrive at the Baptistery of Florence, a remarkable octagonal structure recognized as a World Heritage Site, featuring an impressive façade adorned with slabs of white Carrara and green Prato marble. This temple is among the city’s oldest architectural treasures.
Entering through a replica of the entrance called the Gates of Paradise, we will marvel at the stunning Byzantine mosaics that adorn the Baptistery’s dome. Here, our guide will delve into the history of this monument, which was once thought to be dedicated to the Roman deity, Mars.
Following our visit to the Baptistery, our next stop will be the Opera del Duomo Museum. Accompanied by our knowledgeable guide, we will explore the museum's significant artifacts, including ancient models of the Cathedral and masterpieces by renowned artists such as Brunelleschi, Donatello, and Michelangelo.
After an engaging hour and a half, we will conclude our tour at the starting location, where you will receive tickets to explore Giotto's Bell Tower at your leisure. Ascend to a remarkable height of 276 feet (84 meters) to enjoy one of the most breathtaking vistas of Florence and capture all the memories you desire.
