Florence Cathedral Tickets: Dome, Baptistery & Museum dell'Opera
Description
This ticket allows you to visit the Baptistery of the Florence Cathedral and the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo. You may also enhance your visit by including the Giotto's Campanile and Brunelleschi's Dome if you wish.
What’s Included?
The Florence Duomo stands as an architectural masterpiece, merging Gothic and Renaissance elements. Its facade, adorned with stunning marble in white, green, and pink tones, is an iconic emblem of the city.
Your ticket grants you a window of 72 hours to explore both the Baptistery of San Giovanni and the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo.
Here’s what you can expect from each site:
Baptistery of San Giovanni
One of Florence's most ancient monuments, the Baptistery of San Giovanni invites you to admire its magnificent vaulted ceiling. Inside, gilded mosaics bring to life biblical narratives.
Externally, the renowned Gates of Paradise crafted by Lorenzo Ghiberti exemplify Renaissance artistry and are an absolute must-see.
Museo dell'Opera del Duomo
Your ticket also provides access to the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo, which showcases a remarkable collection of sculptures and original pieces that once adorned the Cathedral and its surroundings.
Key highlights include Michelangelo's Bandini Pietà, a deeply expressive unfinished sculpture, the original panels of Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise, and significant works by Donatello such as his poignant Mary Magdalene.
Enhance Your Visit with the Dome and Campanile
If desired, you can complement your experience by visiting the dome and campanile, each offering unique perspectives.
Brunelleschi's Dome
Brunelleschi’s Dome represents a pinnacle of Renaissance architectural achievement. Upon presentation of your ticket, climb the impressive 463 steps and relish the frescoes by Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari that illustrate the Last Judgment on your ascent.
At the summit, enjoy breathtaking vistas of Florence, characterized by its terracotta rooftops, historic churches, and the course of the Arno River—ideal for memorable photographs!
Giotto's Campanile
Soaring to 84 meters (276 feet), Giotto’s Campanile is among Italy's most striking towers. Adorned with colorful marble and intricate relief sculptures, this bell tower of the Florence Duomo epitomizes exquisite Florentine Gothic architecture.
Are you ready to ascend its 414 steps? From the top, discover spectacular views of the Tuscan capital, including a distinctive angle of Brunelleschi's Dome.
