Details of the Day Trip
By securing your day trip to Cinque Terre from Florence, you gain the opportunity to explore this UNESCO World Heritage site in a relaxed manner. Although the schedule requires an early departure from Florence, the experiences awaiting you throughout the day will undoubtedly justify the early start.
Available Tour Options
At the time of reservation, various options are available. Each choice spans roughly 12.5 hours. Below are the specifics of each option.
Self-Guided Exploration
For those who prefer to discover the area at their leisure, we present a self-guided alternative for the day trip to Cinque Terre from Florence. This allows you the freedom to visit the stunning villages, harmoniously set between land and sea, at your own pace. You will travel by bus to either La Spezia or Levanto, granting you the entire day to traverse Cinque Terre. Explore the enchanting locales of Manarola, Riomaggiore, Vernazza, and Monterosso at your discretion!
Do remember that this choice excludes train transportation among the various towns. You will receive the designated pickup location in La Spezia along with the time to return to Florence at the day's end. The tour concludes in the late afternoon at Piazzale Montelungo, adjacent to the Santa Maria Novella train station.
Guided Tour with Train & Street Food Experience
This option includes an organized bus transport from Florence to Cinque Terre. After a two-hour journey, we will arrive in La Spezia or Levanto, whereupon we will proceed toward Cinque Terre.
Our first destination will be Riomaggiore, where you’ll have a short period to explore before boarding a train to Manarola, the oldest of the Cinque Terre villages, renowned for its fishing and winemaking heritage. From Manarola, we will continue by train to Monterosso, where you have around two hours to enjoy the village situated in a picturesque natural cove, boasting the longest beaches in this region.
Following this, we’ll embark on a boat ride to Vernazza, a charming fishing village known for its stunning natural harbor. You’ll have the opportunity to wander and soak in the beauty of the harbor during your free time.
To conclude our day, we will return via train from La Spezia or Levanto to meet our coach for the journey back to Florence.
Additionally, this choice includes a delightful street food tasting in Monterosso, where you can savor focaccia and a refreshing sorbet.
