By securing this day trip to Cinque Terre from Florence, you can effortlessly explore this UNESCO World Heritage site. Although the itinerary is quite full, departing from Florence early in the day will ensure a rewarding experience.

Upon booking, you will have the chance to select from several options, each lasting roughly 12.5 hours. Below, you'll find details on each choice.
Self-Guided Tour
For those who prefer to discover the area at your leisure, the self-guided day trip to Cinque Terre from Florence allows you to navigate the villages at your own rhythm. This option offers the freedom to enjoy these enchanting hamlets, suspended between land and sea, in any order you desire. You will travel by bus to either La Spezia or Levanto, giving you the entire day to uncover the beauty of Cinque Terre. You can look forward to visiting Manarola, Riomaggiore, Vernazza, and Monterosso.
Be advised that this choice excludes train transportation between the towns. You will receive instructions on where to meet in La Spezia and the designated time to return to Florence later in the day. The tour concludes at Piazzale Montelungo, adjacent to the Santa Maria Novella train station, in the late afternoon.
Guided Tour with Assistant, Train, & Street Food
With this package, we will welcome you aboard the bus in Florence as we embark on the journey to Cinque Terre. After a two-hour scenic drive, we will arrive at either La Spezia or Levanto, depending on availability, before heading towards Cinque Terre.
Your first stop will be Riomaggiore, where you’ll have some free time before boarding a train to Manarola, the oldest of the Cinque Terre villages, renowned for its fishing and viticulture. After exploring Manarola, we will continue by train to Monterosso, where you can enjoy around two hours in this quaint town, known for having the longest beaches in the region.
Next, we will take a boat to Vernazza, a stunning fishing village that surrounds an extraordinary natural harbor. You will have the opportunity to explore its captivating harbor at your own pace.
Your day will end with a train ride back from La Spezia or Levanto to where our coach awaits for the journey back to Florence. Additionally, this option features a delightful street food tasting in Monterosso, featuring a delicious focaccia and a refreshing sorbet.
Guided Tour with Assistant, Train & Pisa
Selecting this option entails an early morning meeting in Florence before boarding a bus that takes us directly to the Ligurian coast. On arrival at La Spezia station, we will take the train to Vernazza, granting you approximately 1.5 hours to wander its lovely natural harbor and discover the charm of this quaint fishing village.
Following our time in Vernazza, we’ll hop on the train to Monterosso, where you will have between 1.5 and 2 hours to either explore the historic center or relax on its expansive beaches. Once our visit concludes, we will return to La Spezia before boarding the bus to Pisa.
In Pisa, you will have free time to visit the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, enabling you to capture images of the iconic Leaning Tower, admire the Baptistery, and appreciate the grandeur of the Cathedral. Afterwards, we will regroup for the return trip to Florence by coach.
Adjustments to Itinerary
- The boat trip is dependent on operational logistics and will be subject to weather conditions. If unavailable, the itinerary will be modified to utilize bus and train travel instead.

Important information
On the day of the activity, we'll meet at tour meets at Piazzale Montelungo next to the Santa Maria Novella train station. Please be there 15 minutes ahead of time.
You'll recognise your guide by their pink t-shirt with the 'CIAOFLORENCE' logo on it.
Important Info
The boat trip is not always operating due to logistics and is always subject to weather conditions. When it cannot be offered, the itinerary will be carried out by bus and train.
If you have booked a self-guided tour to Cinque Terre and Pisa, you must check with the tour assistant on the bus where the meeting point is for the return trip to Florence in the afternoon. You must make your own way there.
On the day of the trip, we suggest you bring: a towel, swimsuit, sunglasses and sunscreen.
