Day Trip Overview

Following the pickup from your accommodation, we will embark on a journey lasting approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to reach Sayaxche. Along the route, we'll make a brief stop to collect a picnic-style lunch, setting the stage for an exciting adventure ahead!

Upon arrival, we will approach the banks of the Pasión River, a vital tributary to the Usumacinta that meanders through lush tropical jungles en route to the Gulf of Mexico. Here, you'll board a speedboat for an exhilarating ride lasting between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

As we glide across the water, listen closely as the gentle sounds of the river harmonize with the calls of diverse bird species, including herons, kingfishers, and green parrots. Be vigilant and watch for wildlife among the treetops! Our journey will also include a cruise along the Arroyo Pucté, which is adorned with vines and aerial roots that intricately intertwine with the riverbanks.

Before long, we will arrive at the stunning Blue Crater, a secluded oasis nestled within the Maya Biosphere Reserve.

You will then enjoy 3 hours of leisure time to savor your meal, take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters, and explore the underwater landscape of the Blue Crater using the provided snorkeling equipment. Did you know the Blue Crater reaches depths of 16 to 22 ft (5-7 m) and boasts a diverse underwater garden among its calcareous formations?

After immersing ourselves in this natural retreat, we'll return to Sayaxche via speedboat, followed by a bus ride back. Our day concludes when we drop you off at your hotel, bringing our 8.5-hour adventure to a close.
