Fougères-sur-Bièvre Castle Tickets
Description
This ticket provides the opportunity to discover Fougères-sur-Bièvre Castle at your leisure, a striking fortress nestled in the Loire Valley, an area renowned for its deep historical significance.
Reasons to Explore Fougères-sur-Bièvre Castle
The Fougères-sur-Bièvre Castle stands as one of the key fortifications within the Loire Valley. With this ticket, you can roam through the castle’s beautiful interiors. Its history dates back to the mid-15th century when this part of France became strategically vital for controlling various territories in the kingdom.
Differing from the more ornate Renaissance castles of the Loire Valley, Fougères Castle exhibits a starker and military essence. Located along the Bièvre River, the fortress was crafted from local limestone rubble sourced from Beauce and tuff from the banks of the Cher River.
