Batalha, Alcobaça, Nazaré & Óbidos Exploration

Your journey begins with a convenient pick-up from your hotel in Fátima, after which we will board a comfortable minibus to embark on an exploration of four of the country's most significant historical sites.

The first destination will be Batalha, where we will explore its renowned monastery, a stunning example of Gothic and Manueline design. You will quickly grasp why this medieval monument has earned its place as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as you marvel at its ancient stained glass and gaze upon the breathtakingly intricate ceilings.

Next, we will proceed to Alcobaça, home to the 12th-century Alcobaça Monastery and church, recognized as the first Gothic structures in Portugal. Before departing, don’t miss the opportunity to indulge in a pastel de nata, the famous Portuguese custard tart - a true delight!

Following this, we will head towards the coastline to visit the charming town of Nazaré. We will take a moment to explore the hilltop Sanctuary of Our Lady of Nazaré, notable for its baroque design, Biblical frescoes, and a remarkable painting depicting a miraculous event. You’ll then have some leisure time to enjoy lunch, and remember, Nazaré is celebrated for its fresh fish!

Our final stop will be Óbidos, where we will stroll through the fortified historic center, offering views of the splendid castle that overlooks this medieval haven. To conclude our journey, we will partake in a tasting of the local liqueur, known as ginjinha.

By the end of this enriching tour, you will be returned to your hotel in Fátima by 5:30 PM.
