Join us on this bike expedition in Fátima, where we'll pedal through the city and its enchanting surroundings, visiting charming villages and intriguing caves. This journey will also take us to the renowned Sanctuary, offering a dynamic route fueled by our cycling efforts!

Activity Overview

Are you ready for a biking adventure in Fátima? We will convene at Rua de São José, where we will equip ourselves with e-bikes, helmets, and all necessary safety gear for this excursion through one of Portugal's most revered regions. Let’s embark on this exciting journey!

Once we are prepared, we'll set out towards one of the key pilgrimage destinations within the Catholic faith: the Shrine of Fátima. Upon arrival, we will have the opportunity to explore the expansive esplanade and its principal edifices. We will take a moment to admire the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, characterized by its impressive and understated architectural lines that marry classical influences with a profound sense of devotion.

In addition, we will visit the Basilica of the Holy Trinity, a large modern church that offers a striking contrast to the historical structures in the vicinity. Did you know that the esplanade of the Fátima Shrine is twice as large as St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City?

We will then make our way to Aljustrel, the quaint village where the three shepherd children resided. Here, we'll explore their homes, which are prime examples of traditional Portuguese rural architecture, constructed with simple materials to cater to the needs of peasant life in the early 20th century.

Next, we will proceed to Valinhos, navigating through its tranquil and historically rich landscape. Here, we’ll uncover the Hungarian Calvary, an area steeped in spiritual importance, adorned with monumental altars. After that, we will visit Loca do Cabeço, a location linked to the apparitions of the Angel of Peace. Encircled by greenery, we will discover how the surrounding landscape contributes to the overall heritage narrative of Fátima.

Our cycling journey will conclude as we return to the initial meeting point, where we will part ways after an enriching 3-hour experience.
