Join us on this adventure to Laguna, where we will explore a dolphin sanctuary and an iconic lighthouse. Additionally, we will visit the birthplace of the renowned revolutionary, Anita Garibaldi!

Excursion to Laguna

Your day will begin at 9 am with a pickup from your hotel in Garopaba, as we set off south towards Laguna, known for being one of the most picturesque coastal towns in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.

The first stop on our journey will be the Santuário dos Botos, a unique site where we will witness a fishing method that can only be found in this region and Greece. Here, dolphins collaborate with fishermen to encircle schools of fish, showcasing a remarkable partnership between humans and wildlife!

After observing this fascinating technique, our tour continues with a visit to the Anita Garibaldi Museum. The name of this celebrated Brazilian revolutionary might sound familiar; she was the wife of Giuseppe Garibaldi, a significant figure in the movement for Italian unification.

We will delve into the impact of Anita Garibaldi on the revolutionary movements in South America and Europe during the early 19th century. Following this insightful exploration, we will enjoy lunch at a restaurant located along the Canal da Barra, where you can savor a regional dish. Options will include a vegetarian selection or specialties featuring fish, chicken, or shrimp.

After our meal, we will proceed to the desert region of the Caminhantes Dunes. Next, our path will lead us to the Santa Marta Lighthouse, standing as one of the tallest lighthouses in the Americas! In the vicinity of this historic structure, we will also encounter the sambaquis, ancient ceremonial sites that have revealed human remains and burial artifacts.

As we take in the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean from the base of the Santa Marta Lighthouse, our tour will come to a close as we make our way back to your hotel in Garopaba, arriving around 5 pm.
