8-Day Egypt All-Inclusive Private Tour
Description
Welcome to the majestic realm of the pharaohs! This exclusive 8-day private tour of Egypt departing from Cairo encompasses visits to Luxor, Aswan, Edfu, Abu Simbel, and numerous other captivating sites. A cruise along the Nile River is also included!
Tour Overview
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo
Your Egyptian adventure begins at either Cairo Airport or Sphinx Airport, based on your choice. After assisting you with your visa and immigration procedures, we will transfer you to your hotel in Cairo. You will have some leisure time before we reconvene in the late afternoon to enjoy a delicious dinner at a local restaurant. Following a satisfying meal featuring an array of local specialties, we’ll return to your hotel for a restful night.
Note: If your flight arrives after 9 pm, a cold picnic will be provided at the hotel instead of a sit-down dinner.
Day 2: Cairo - Giza - Memphis - Cairo
Following breakfast at your hotel, we will embark on a brief 30-minute drive to witness one of Ancient Egypt's most awe-inspiring locales. Here, you'll experience a guided tour of the Sphinx and one of the Giza pyramids. Depending on accessibility, you may enter either Cheops, Khafre, or Menkaure pyramids, with an entrance fee of 1500EGP per person.
After an enlightening visit, we'll savor a traditional Egyptian meal at a nearby restaurant. Once revitalized, we’ll proceed for approximately 40 minutes to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, where we'll explore the remnants of the Saqqara necropolis and admire the renowned statue of Pharaoh Ramses II.
Later, we will venture to the old part of Cairo, traversing its medieval sector, visiting its oldest streets, and immersing ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of the Khan el Kalili market. We will conclude our day with a stop at the iconic Café des Miroirs before heading to a traditional venue for a typical Egyptian dinner.
After dining, we'll return to your hotel for the night.
Day 3: Exploring Cairo
Your third day starts with a hearty breakfast, followed by a pick-up for a comprehensive tour of central Cairo. You will see some of the capital's historical landmarks, including the Citadel of Saladin, the Muhammad Ali Mosque, the bustling Khan el-Khalili market, and the Coptic quarter. After this exploration, we will pause for a local lunch.
Post-lunch, we will delve into the magnificent exhibits at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo, excluding the mummy room. We will finish the day with dinner at a local eatery before escorting you back to your hotel for a well-deserved rest.
Day 4: Cairo - Luxor
After breakfast, we will head to Cairo Airport to board a flight to Luxor. After a brief one-hour flight, we will arrive in the ancient city of Thebes, the capital during the Middle and New Kingdoms of Egypt.
Our morning is filled with a guided exploration of Luxor Temple, where you will encounter the historic avenue of sphinxes and magnificent columned halls. Following this visit, we will enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride around Luxor.
The carriage will drop you off at a boat moored along the Nile River, where you’ll have the remainder of the day free to relax, enjoy lunch, and have dinner on board.
Day 5: Luxor - Edfu
After a fulfilling breakfast on the boat, we'll take you to experience the wondrous Karnak Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site regarded as the grand sanctuary of Amun. Here, we will explore its profound historical significance before returning to the Nile's banks.
A short boat ride will transport us across the river, where we will tour the Valley of the Kings to uncover the burial practices of Ancient Egypt and discover the tombs of noted pharaohs. If you wish to visit Tutankhamun's tomb, a fee of approximately 900EGP per person will be required.
Our visits continue at the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the colossal Colossi of Memnon, each representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III. After an insightful morning, we will return to Luxor for lunch before setting sail for Edfu.
As night falls, enjoy the scenic sunset over the Esna lock while having dinner and overnight accommodation aboard the cruise ship.
Day 6: Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan
After breakfast with picturesque views of the Nile, we will disembark for a guided visit to the Temple of Edfu, celebrated for being one of the best-preserved temples dedicated to the god Horus, concealing many historical secrets.
Following the tour, we will return to the ship and continue south on the Nile, arriving at Kom Ombo after approximately 1.5 hours. Here, we will explore the unique double temple from the Ptolemaic period, devoted to gods Sobek and Hareoris.
After the temple visit, we’ll return for lunch aboard the ship and enjoy the afternoon relaxing on deck as we sail toward Aswan, our destination for the night.
Important: In Edfu, transfers will be made via horse-drawn carriage. If you prefer alternative transport, please inform your guide a day in advance with an additional cost of 15EUR per person.
Day 7: Aswan - Abu Simbel - Aswan
On your second last day, after breakfast on the cruise ship at the Aswan port, we'll embark on a 3-hour drive to the Abu Simbel temples. Upon arrival, you'll explore these magnificent rock-carved temples from the era of Pharaoh Ramses II. Did you know these monumental structures were relocated to a man-made hill in 1968 due to the Aswan Dam's construction?
Afterward, we will return across the reservoir to visit the temple on Philae Island, dedicated to the goddess Isis. Post-visit, we will transfer back to the cruise ship for lunch around noon.
After dining, we will board a felucca, experiencing a serene one-hour sail around the beautiful views of Aswan.
We will return to the ship around 4 pm, with the rest of the afternoon at leisure onboard before enjoying dinner and spending the night while docked in Aswan.
Day 8: Aswan - Cairo
Enjoy breakfast on the boat before we transfer you to Aswan Airport for your 1.5-hour flight back to Cairo.
Pickup time will be adjusted based on your onward international flight. For early departures from Cairo, we can arrange an earlier flight from Aswan with a packed breakfast, while afternoon flights allow for a more relaxed continental breakfast on the boat.
