The Mount Rigi Day Pass offers a fantastic opportunity for a full day of exploration on the stunning Mount Rigi located in the Swiss Alps. This ticket grants you the chance to experience the cable cars and cogwheel trains that lead to the summit, all in one day.

Mount Rigi Day Pass

This 1-day pass allows travelers to reach the summit of Mount Rigi using several modes of transportation:

• Cogwheel train departing from Vitznau
• Cogwheel train departing from Goldau
• Cable car from Weggis
• Cable car from Kräbel

You may choose to board the cogwheel train from either Vitznau or Goldau, both of which lead to the summit of Mount Rigi. At the top, witness breathtaking views featuring Lake Lucerne, the Bernese Alps, the Vosges Mountains, and sections of the Black Forest.

Alternatively, the cable cars from Weggis or Kräbel provide stunning vistas of the Swiss Alps as well.

Whether you select the cogwheel train or the cable car, at the summit of 1,797 metres (5,895 feet), you can leisurely enjoy the views and amenities available.

Additionally, with over 120 kilometres (74 miles) of hiking paths, Mount Rigi serves as an exceptional starting point for nature walks and hiking adventures. Discover family-friendly themed trails featuring playgrounds, barbecuing spots, and dining options. Don't miss the chance to capture memorable moments at the Känzeli viewpoint near Rigi Kaltbad.

It's important to remember that with your Day Pass, you can ascend and descend on each of the four included transport systems as many times as desired throughout the day of your booking.

Hot Springs

For an additional experience, consider adding access to the Mineralbad & Spa Rigi Kaltbad complex to your Day Pass, which is accessible via transportation included in the pass. Enjoy the Finnish sauna, whirlpools with scenic alpine views, and a relaxation area.

The water is heated sustainably using wood from the region, maintaining a comfortable 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit). The spa is nourished by its own thermal spring, discovered 600 years ago, known for its therapeutic benefits.

Please be aware that entry to the thermal facilities is restricted to those aged 16 and over.

• Vitznau cogwheel train station: Daily from 6:30 am to 10:40 pm
• Goldau cogwheel train station: Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 6 pm; Fridays through Sundays from 8 am to 8 pm
• Weggis cable car: Monday through Thursday from 6:45 am to 7:10 pm; Fridays from 6:45 am to 11:20 pm; Saturdays from 8:10 am to 11:20 pm; Sundays from 8:10 am to 7:10 pm

Children under 16

Children under the age of 16 can travel for free on the included transport provisions of the Mount Rigi Day Pass.
