Alhambra + Albaicín & Sacromonte Private Tour
Description
Explore the Alhambra with a private English-speaking guide and enjoy a personalized tour through the Albaicín and Sacromonte neighborhoods of Granada.
Private Tour of the Alhambra
We’ll meet at the agreed time at the Paseo del Generalife to begin our private tour of the Alhambra in a group of no more than 10 people.
Our visit will begin with the breathtaking Nasrid Palaces: Mexuar, Comares, and the Palace of the Lions, whose iconic fountain is one of the Alhambra’s most recognized symbols. As we explore each room, we’ll admire the intricate plasterwork and uncover the fascinating stories hidden in its walls—tales of power, romance, and intrigue.
Next, we’ll head to the Alcazaba, the fortress area of the Alhambra. We’ll explore its ancient watchtowers, including La Vela and La Pólvora, before continuing to the Medina. Here, we’ll see the ruins of residences once occupied by Nasrid nobles and high-ranking religious figures.
The final part of our tour takes us to the lush Generalife gardens, where tranquil fountains, colorful flowerbeds, and shaded walkways offer a peaceful contrast to the palaces and fortresses.
After 3 hours immersed in the beauty and history of the Alhambra, we’ll end the tour back at the meeting point.
Albaicín & Sacromonte Private Tour
This private activity begins at the centrally located Plaza de Santa Ana in Granada. From here, we’ll set off on a guided walking tour through the Albaicín, a neighborhood declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As we stroll through the Albaicín, we’ll explore its narrow, winding streets and picturesque squares. Along the way, we’ll pass by the traditional cármenes of Granada, the characteristic, charming houses of Arab origin, typically featuring gardens or small orchards.
Our walk continues to the Sacromonte district, perched on the hillside. As we explore this unique area, we’ll learn about its iconic cave dwellings and the zambra gitana, a distinctive flamenco style born right here in Sacromonte.
We’ll finish this enriching 2-hour tour at one of the city’s most emblematic spots: the Paseo de los Tristes.
