This excursion through the Tequila region seamlessly blends distillery tours, the essence of Jalisco's culture, and the historical significance of the circular pyramids at Guachimontones. Additionally, this journey includes three nights of accommodations.

Tour Overview

Day 1: Guadalajara to Tequila

Your adventure begins as we pick you up from either your hotel or Guadalajara Airport to delve into the enchanting state of Jalisco. Our first destination is the Magical Town of Tequila, framed by expansive blue agave fields, a stunning landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

During the hour-long transfer, you’ll be served a light onboard lunch consisting of a grilled chicken sandwich accompanied by fruit and your choice of juice or a soft drink.

Arriving in Tequila, we will visit a traditional distillery where you'll have the opportunity to understand the intricate process behind the making of this renowned Mexican spirit. Throughout the nearly three-hour tour, you will explore the cultivation and conversion of agave into tequila, along with the significance this craft holds within Jalisco’s cultural landscape.

We'll then take a one-hour break at the Paraíso Azul viewpoint, one of the region’s premier panoramic locales. If the weather permits, you’ll have some time to wander the town of Tequila at your leisure.

Afterward, we’ll check you into your hotel in Tequila, leaving the remainder of the afternoon and evening for your personal enjoyment.

Day 2: Tequila to Guachimontones and back

Morning will see us gathering to visit a remarkable archaeological treasure in western Mexico: the Guachimontones complex, a noteworthy ceremonial center from the ancient Teuchitlán culture.

Following a drive of approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, we will embark on a two-hour guided exploration of this site, distinguished by its circular pyramids. Did you know that this architectural style is rather uncommon in Mesoamerica? As we stroll through the ruins, we'll discuss the historical context of this pre-Hispanic society, its hierarchy, and the ritual importance of these monumental constructions.

Post-visit, we'll transfer to another distillery for an immersive two-hour experience that further explores traditional tequila-making techniques. You’ll have the option to participate in a tasting session at your own cost, allowing you to savor its robust flavors.

Next, we’ll stop at Rancho Agavero Don Jacinto, where you can indulge in cantaritos, a classic Mexican cocktail made with tequila, fruits, salt, and ice, at your own expense. Enjoying the vibrant atmosphere accompanied by music and the beauty of agave fields is an ideal way to unwind, and you will have time to partake in lunch at your own expense to relish local culinary delights.

We will then return to your hotel in Tequila, where the remainder of the afternoon is yours to enjoy.

Day 3: Tequila to Guadalajara

The final full day of the tour commences with checking out of your hotel in Tequila. Once ready, we will embark on a 1 hour and 15-minute journey back to Guadalajara.

Upon our arrival, we will visit Entre Charros, where we’ll engage with charrería, an essential aspect of Mexican tradition. This immersive experience will showcase the vibrant customs and ambiance of charreadas, enveloped in music and equestrian pageantry, capturing the festive spirit of Jalisco.

After spending approximately four hours at this venue, we will proceed to your hotel in Guadalajara for check-in. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore the capital city of Jalisco and delight in its culinary offerings.

Day 4: Departure from Guadalajara

On the concluding day of your tour, we will pick you up from your Guadalajara hotel at the agreed time to take you to the airport.

Accommodation Details

This journey includes accommodations for three nights in either single or double occupancy rooms with private bathrooms, depending on your selection during booking. The hotels slated for your stay are:

• Guadalajara (1 night): Hotel de Mendoza (4 stars) or an equivalent
• Tequila (2 nights): Hotel Casa Jima Agave (3 stars) or a similar establishment

Distillery Experiences

The specific distilleries visited may differ based on availability. Among the possible options are Fortaleza, Cascahuin, Arette, Orendain, Jose Cuervo, Castillo de Tequila, Sauza, and Cava de Oro.

Please note that on the first day, pickup should occur no later than 4 pm to ensure the itinerary for the day can be completed as planned.
