San Rafael Coffee Tour

On this coffee tour in San Rafael, participants will immerse themselves in the intricate process of producing a globally renowned and aromatic beverage.

Tour Overview

We will start our journey at Portobello Mall in Guatapé, where we will gather at the specified time before making our way to a local coffee farm situated in the San Rafael region.

Once we arrive, a pleasant 5-kilometre trail (3.1 miles) awaits us as we walk to the farm. Upon arrival, we will be greeted with a refreshing beverage to recharge before embarking on our exploration of the hacienda. During this tour, we will uncover the entire process involved in crafting rich Colombian coffee.

Our adventure begins in the coffee plantation, where we will observe firsthand the planting and nurturing of the coffee plants. We will dedicate approximately 20 minutes to learn about the harvesting techniques and even have the opportunity to pick coffee beans ourselves.

Subsequently, we will move on to the processes of washing, drying, and finally roasting the beans. Once the beans are perfectly roasted, they will undergo threshing followed by grinding. The resultant coffee powder will be packaged, and we will also use a portion to prepare a coffee-based drink for tasting at the conclusion of our visit. This will allow you to experience its remarkable intensity and flavor firsthand!

At the end of the tour, we will retrace our steps back to the vehicle, which will be ready to transport us back to Guatapé, with an estimated return time of 4 hours post-departure.
