During this biking adventure in Guatapé, participants will immerse themselves in the picturesque landscapes surrounding one of Colombia’s iconic reservoirs. Prepare for an exhilarating journey on two wheels!

Details of the Tour

The bike excursion begins at the bustling Main Park square. Following a warm welcome, we will provide a short historical overview and distribute the bicycles. Is your helmet securely fastened? Let’s hit the road!

Our journey spans 16 kilometers (10 miles) of moderate difficulty, initially guiding us through Guatapé's historic center and its contemporary areas. As we ride, the vibrant tapial and bahareque walls and colorful balconies surround us, highlighting the renowned zócalos, which contribute to the town’s remarkable visual identity.

Traversing scenic hills and tackling some steep ascents, we’ll arrive at the Balcón de los Dioses. This viewpoint, once an ancient indigenous cemetery, offers us a breathtaking perspective of the town alongside the expansive Guatapé reservoir.

Next, we’ll cycle onward to the Benedictine Monastery of Santa María de la Epifanía, where its understated architecture provides a striking contrast to the surrounding lush nature. This serene environment allows us a moment to savor a refreshing glass of orange juice.

Before concluding the excursion, we’ll make a stop at the Piedra del Peñol. We’ll gather at the most picturesque spots to discover the cultural and geological significance of this monumental rock.

The tour will culminate as we ride back to the Main Park, where we will conclude our experience and exchange farewells after an engaging 3.5-hour journey.
