Embark on a cocoa journey in San Rafael, where we will explore the transformation of one of Colombia’s renowned products from the farm to exquisite chocolate.

Description

We will convene at Portobello Mall in Guatapé at the appointed time to kick off the cocoa journey in San Rafael, unraveling the mysteries of this beloved Colombian product.

After departing from our meeting point, we'll head towards a cocoa farm in San Rafael. Upon arrival, a short 200 meters (656 feet) walk will lead us to the main house, where we will be greeted with a refreshing beverage.

Next, we will immerse ourselves in the Colombian cocoa experience, as a knowledgeable expert guides us through the farm, detailing the essential phases of production, including cultivation, flowering, and harvesting.

Following this, we will observe the wood stove process, where the cocoa beans are expertly roasted and the finest seeds chosen. We’ll then witness the shell removal, grinding of the interior, and extraction of the cocoa, which will be transformed into a chocolate bar. After cooling, it will be ready for tasting!

If you choose, the experience can include a visit to the river, where you may participate in a chocolate exfoliation ritual, providing a truly organic experience!

As our delightful day concludes, we will return to Guatapé, with an expected arrival time of four hours post-departure.
