Big Island Snorkel Tour
Description
Experience the stunning Kona Coast of Hawaii's Big Island through snorkeling in its vibrant turquoise waters, where countless marine species await discovery.
Available Options
Upon booking, you can select from various options, each commencing from Kealakehe Pkwy. All choices feature boat transportation, an English-speaking guide, and snorkeling gear. Below are the details specific to each alternative:
Snorkeling at Pawai Bay
This choice invites you to visit Pawai Bay, renowned for being one of the most picturesque and private bays along the Kona coastline. Here, you can immerse yourself in snorkeling while marveling at the mesmerizing underwater landscape and unique lava rock formations shaped over time. The snorkeling experience at Pawai Bay extends for two hours.
Schedule: this adventure begins at 1:30 pm.
Snorkeling at Kealakekua Bay
Aboard a small vessel, we'll navigate to Kealakekua Bay. Notably, this site marks the location of Captain James Cook's demise, commemorated by a monument along the shore. However, our focus will be the aquatic life. The pristine waters here are mostly untouched and accessible only by boat or via an arduous hiking route.
You may encounter bottlenose dolphins, pilot whales, spotted dolphins, and manta rays in these waters. We will also take in the breathtaking cliffs and sea caves formed by ancient lava flows. After a four-hour excursion, we will return to our initial departure point.
Schedule: this option kicks off at 8:30 am.
Whale Watching
Between the months of December and April, the waters surrounding Hawaii often host whales. If you participate in the tour during this season, we will aim to approach them. Please note that sightings can be unpredictable due to factors such as ocean currents, wind, and weather conditions, which may affect whale visibility at the time of your expedition.
