The Helsinki Card serves as your digital gateway to exploring the key museums, landmarks, and activities in Finland's capital city. This card allows you to optimize your time and expenses, enabling you to immerse yourself in the city's offerings at your own pace.
What Does the Helsinki Card Provide?
All variations of the card offer single-entry admission to the following major attractions:
- Ateneum Art Museum
- Kiasma Contemporary Art Museum
- Temppeliaukio Church
- Design Museum
- Panoramic bus tour (available from October to April)
- Canal cruise (operating from May to September)
Available Card Options
During the reservation process, you can select from three duration options for your pass: 24, 48, or 72 hours, with the following categories:
- Helsinki Card: grants access to all museums and tourist attractions throughout the city; however, it does not include public transport.
- Helsinki Card REGION: offers the same cultural perks as the standard option along with unlimited access to public transport in zones A, B, and C, facilitating convenient connections to and from Helsinki Airport by train.
Operational Process
The Helsinki Card functions as a fully online platform with the following procedure:
- After completing your booking, a confirmation document will provide a code.
- This code must be redeemed on the official website.
- Post redemption, you can download your tourist card directly onto your device.
- Activation: the card becomes valid the first time you use it at an attraction or on public transport.
- Note: Once the Helsinki Card is downloaded from the website, cancellations without charge are not permitted.
Key Information
For those who have purchased the Helsinki Card REGION, please note that public transport validation requires you to have a printed copy of the card, as digital versions are not accepted on local transport systems.
Children Under 7
Children younger than 7 travel without charge on public transport and gain free entry to most museums.

The Helsinki Card is a completely online service. The process works as follows:
- You must redeem the code you received on the official website: helsinkicard.com.
- Once redeemed, you can download your tourist card directly to your mobile device.
- Activation: The card's validity period begins the first time you use it at an attraction or on public transport.
- Once you have downloaded the Helsinki Card from the website, the booking cannot be canceled free of charge.
Important Info
If you have booked the Helsinki Card REGION option and need to validate public transport, you must carry a printed copy of the card. Readers on local transport do not accept digital passes.
If you do not have a printer, you can print the card in Helsinki for an additional handling fee at the following locations:
- Excess Baggage Company (in the arrivals hall of Helsinki Airport)
- Stockmann Department Store (service point on the 8th floor, city center)
