Your adventure commences alongside Lake Beluga, where a minibus will transport you to Homer Airport. Here, you will board a plane, setting the stage for an unforgettable encounter with the renowned grizzly bears.

After a flight lasting between one to one and a half hours, determined by the bears' locations, we journey deep into the heart of Alaska, arriving at the optimal area for viewing while soaking in the breathtaking scenery of glaciers and local volcanoes.

Upon landing, the exploration begins as we seek out the bears. Katmai National Park boasts the world's largest protected population of grizzly bears, establishing it as the premier spot to observe these magnificent animals.

Depending on our location, you may witness bears interacting in their natural habitat or fishing for salmon in the river—an experience that promises to be truly memorable! Our guide will ensure you reach the best vantage points for exceptional photography, all while maintaining a respectful distance from the wildlife to prioritize safety.

After spending three hours in the company of these incredible mammals, we will return to the plane for your ride back to Homer.

Location

The exact site of the activity varies throughout the year, following the migration patterns of the bears in search of food. The estimated locations based on specific dates are as follows:

• May 15th - June 25th: Katmai National Park coastline and Lake Clark National Park and Preserve shoreline.
  June 26th - July 31st: Brooks Falls.
  August 1st - 31st: Areas within Katmai National Park or Lake Clark National Park and Preserve.
