Pulque Tasting Experience
Have you encountered the legendary divine drink? We will gather at Hotel Las Candelas in Huamantla at the appointed time to embark on a flavorful journey, sampling the sweet nectar cherished by the Indigenous Peoples of Mexico.
Pulque, a quintessential Mexican drink, is derived from the fermentation of the maguey or agave plant, which held a sacred status in pre-colonial eras. During this session, we will explore the rich history of this notable beverage, along with the fascinating legends that accompany it, while reflecting on its significance within Mexican culture.
Following this introduction, we will enjoy a variety of pulque, including both natural and cured versions, the latter enhanced with honey or sugar. With a diverse array of flavors to explore—ranging from oatmeal and tropical options to pine nut—you’ll have the opportunity to sample them all!
The tasting experience will wrap up about ninety minutes after we set off.
