Huamantla Walking Tour
We will gather at Hotel Las Candelas at the designated time to commence our exploration of Huamantla, recognized as one of Mexico's Pueblos Mágicos and the inaugural one in the state of Tlaxcala. This title is granted to municipalities that showcase significant cultural heritage worthy of preservation.
During our journey through Huamantla, we will visit several key attractions around the town. Our route includes a stop by the Convent of San Luis and its parish church, a beautiful landmark dating from colonial times, featuring a vibrant dome that is sure to captivate you. Following this, we will proceed to the Basilica de la Caridad and the Cultural House, a venue with eight rooms that often host artistic workshops and exhibitions. Originally established between the 18th and 19th centuries, this cultural center began as an educational institution.
Continuing on foot, we will find ourselves at the entrance of the National Puppet Museum, which showcases a vast array of puppets from diverse regions, including India, Indonesia, France, and Spain. A highlight of the exhibition is the collection created by the Rosete Aranda brothers, who led a renowned puppet theater company across Latin America and Europe.
Our tour will conclude after approximately ninety minutes when we return to our starting point, where we will conclude our journey together.
