A day excursion to the Entreaguas Natural Reserve offers an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in its diverse ecosystem while enjoying a picturesque hike, making it an essential part of your itinerary in Ibagué.
Excursion Overview
At the arranged time, we will collect you from your Ibagué accommodation and begin our journey to the Entreaguas Natural Reserve, situated along the San Simón Coello trail.
Our adventure commences with a delightful traditional breakfast, featuring the renowned lechona tolimense. This beloved dish, acclaimed as the best pork dish in the world by a notable culinary organization, consists of slow-cooked pork, stuffed with onions, peas, and an array of fresh herbs and spices, all served alongside rice. You will have the chance to savor this incredible dish during our visit!
Once rejuvenated, we will proceed to the Coello-Cocora trail as we enter the natural reserve. Here, we will embark on a hiking journey that will unveil the rich flora and fauna of the area while delving into the literary legacy of Álvaro Mutis, a celebrated Colombian writer who drew inspiration from Entreaguas in his works.
As we stroll along the banks of the Coello River, encircled by vibrant vegetation, we will share fascinating tales related to the local heritage. Our hike will lead us to the hidden waterfalls of this sanctuary, where we will encounter serene creeks, indigenous flora, and an array of colorful bird species that call this environment home. Subsequently, you will have the opportunity to visit a local family, who will graciously welcome us into their home for a regional lunch brimming with genuine flavors.
Our excursion will continue with the joy of local music, where everyone can participate in singing, dancing, and playing instruments. To conclude our day on a vibrant note, we will take part in a craft workshop, accompanied by a warm hot chocolate and a delicious arepa. What a perfect way to round off the experience!
Finally, we will return to Ibagué and drop you off at your hotel, approximately 11 hours after the initial pickup.

Important information
On the day of the activity, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ibagué at the designated time. Please be ready 15 minutes in advance.
The guide will be wearing a "Turismo Con-ciencia" polo with on it.
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes, a towel, appropriate footwear, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a reusable bottle.
