La Caravedo Distillery Tour
Description
Pisco represents one of the principal beverages of Peru. During this visit to the La Caravedo distillery, you will discover the intricate process behind its production and partake in a tasting of this iconic drink.
Tour Overview
Your journey begins at the entrance of Hacienda La Caravedo, where you can choose a convenient time to start this guided experience at one of Latin America's oldest distilleries, with origins tracing back to 1634.
We will kick off the tour in the cultivation area, observing the diverse Pisco grape varieties. Here, you will become familiar with the eight recognized types: Quebranta, Acholado, Torontel, Albilla, Moscatel, Mollar, Italia, and Negra Criolla.
Next, we will explore the original facilities established in 1684, where the wine press, the press, and the falcas stand out. This traditional equipment was essential for producing pisco through a fully artisanal method. Nowadays, La Caravedo remains one of Peru's most advanced distilleries.
At the conclusion of our guided exploration, you'll have the opportunity to taste various piscos, varying according to the type of experience selected.
