Activity Details

We will gather at the designated meeting point in Iquitos and embark on a brief 20-minute walk leading to the upper section of the Mercado Belén. This journey will guide us to the spot where we’ll step into a traditional Amazonian canoe.

Our adventure on the Itaya River, a serene tributary of the Amazon, will last for half an hour, bringing us to a prime location renowned for its abundance of piranhas. As we travel, the surrounding jungle will enhance the beauty of our experience.

Upon reaching our designated fishing spot, we will introduce you to the time-honored techniques that have been preserved through generations. With skill and a touch of patience, you'll experience the excitement of casting the hook and feeling the tug of your first piranha. This moment promises to be unforgettable!

With fishing gear ready, you will have the opportunity to catch piranhas in a secure, designated area. This experience is a unique blend of exhilaration, culture, and nature—allowing you not only to fish but also to gain insight into the importance of this native Amazonian fish and its ecological impact.

After a fulfilling three hours immersed in nature, we will return to the dock, savoring the tranquil atmosphere of the jungle. Finally, we will escort you back to the starting point, wrapping up our four-hour adventure with farewells.
