When in Ivalo, it's essential to immerse yourself in the traditional culture of Finnish Lapland. Our journey will commence at 12 Ivalontie as we journey towards Inari, where we will explore a reindeer farm and the Sámi Museum. Both sites are highlights of the region!

Traveling by minibus to a local reindeer farm, you will get a unique opportunity to meet these gentle creatures, known as Santa's helpers. An experienced caretaker will provide insights about the reindeer, covering their lifestyle, care needs, and distinct traits of Lapland's iconic animal. You'll gain knowledge on their behaviors and even have the chance to feed them.

Following this captivating nature experience, we’ll proceed to the Inari Sámi Museum, recognized as Finland's national museum dedicated to the Sámi people and awarded European Museum of the Year in 2024. Here, you will discover the history of the Sámi and the Arctic environment through a variety of interactive displays.

The Inari Sámi Museum, also referred to as Siida, serves as a celebrated cultural center where the historical and spiritual narratives of the Sámi people converge with the Arctic's biodiversity. The museum showcases an array of artifacts that depict the lifestyles of Lapland’s indigenous communities, including traditional garments, hunting implements, and the distinctive kuksa—a handcrafted wooden cup cherished by the Sámi.

To conclude this enriching cultural experience, we’ll gather inside a traditional Sámi teepee to savor a meal prepared over an open flame. A delightful end to our adventure!
