Arab Baths and Villardompardo Palace Tour
The journey commences at the Cultural Centre of the Arab Baths, where we will embark on exploring the remarkable Villardompardo Palace, a Renaissance gem from the 16th century that houses the baths.
Your guided experience will kick off at the Palace, once the home of Fernando de Torres y Portugal, the First Count of Villardompardo and Viceroy of Peru. Nestled in the vibrant heart of the historic center of Jaen, this building has changed ownership and purpose over the centuries.
Next, we will delve into the two museums located within its walls. First, we will explore the Museum of Popular Arts and Customs, which showcases the craft traditions that have faded throughout the city's past. Following that, we will visit the Naïf Art Museum, a distinctive establishment unique to Spain.
Our journey will then lead us into the largest Arab Baths in Europe, spanning an impressive 450 square meters. Dating back to 1002, these baths offer a glimpse into the rituals and practices of the Muslim community. Throughout the visit, we will explore the four distinct areas that compose these traditional Arab baths.
Approximately an hour and a half later, we will conclude our guided experience at the Terrace-Viewpoint, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the city.
