Your coffee journey begins punctually at Jerico's central park, where we will embark on a delightful tuk-tuk ride to a nearby coffee plantation.
Upon arrival, a local family will extend a hearty welcome, guiding us into the main hall of the coffee house. Following some introductory remarks, each participant will receive a kit that contains a bottle of water and an empty 70-gram container for gathering fresh coffee during the tour.
The adventure will commence with an overview of the global coffee history, paying special attention to its unique trajectory in Colombia and the legacy of this particular farm. Following this segment, we will delve into coffee cultivation techniques, tracing the process from seed planting to harvest, which encapsulates the full agricultural journey.
After this informative session, we'll take a refreshing break. Once revitalized, our exploration will continue with the stages involved in coffee processing and packaging. Participants will gain insights into how raw coffee beans evolve into the final product ready for market.
The concluding part of the tour offers a distinct sensory experience: a specialized coffee tasting! Attendees will observe various brewing methods in action, utilizing tools such as the French Press, Chemex, V60, and Aeropress. You'll become proficient in appreciating Colombian coffee! Additionally, you will receive a commemorative stamp and an instant photo to cherish this experience.
Finally, we will make our way back to Jerico's central park. After approximately three and a half hours, the tour will conclude with a delightful brunch, marking a fitting end to this deep dive into the coffee world.
