Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg – Journey to Hazyview

Welcome to the enchanting landscapes of South Africa! At the scheduled time, we will meet you at either the O. R. Tambo International Airport (the main airport in Johannesburg) or at a nearby hotel located within 5 kilometers (3 miles) of the terminal. We’ll commence our journey heading towards the northwest.

After approximately 4 hours on the road, we will reach a cozy lodge situated in Hazyview. Following a light lunch, you can unwind until the evening. As the day transitions into night, we'll take you northward to witness a breathtaking sunset in Kruger National Park. This unforgettable moment against the backdrop of the African savanna will surely leave a lasting impression!

Afterwards, we will return to the lodge for a delightful dinner and a restful evening.

Day 2: Hazyview – Safari in Kruger National Park– Return to Hazyview

On this day, we will rise before dawn to explore the most popular natural reserve in South Africa. Our morning will begin with a spectacular sunrise safari in Kruger National Park, where the early hours offer the best chance to observe the African Big Five: lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, buffaloes, and elephants.

Following a thrilling 3-hour safari, we will pause to enjoy a traditional picnic breakfast that we have prepared for you. After breakfast, the safari continues as we navigate through the beautiful landscapes of Kruger, taking in the scenic rivers and savanna plains.

A brief stop will be made at a campsite in Kruger, allowing you to use restroom facilities and enjoy lunch at your own expense. We will then make our way back to Hazyview, where you can spend the afternoon leisurely at the lodge, soaking up the sun and taking a dip in the pool. Dinner is included, providing a wonderful conclusion to an active day.

Day 3: Hazyview – Kruger National Park – Departure to Johannesburg

On our final day, we will repeat the morning itinerary. Awaken before sunrise to embark on another sunrise safari in Kruger National Park, aiming to spot wildlife that may have eluded us previously.

After completing the safari and enjoying another traditional picnic breakfast, we will return to the lodge in Hazyview around midday. Here, you can collect your luggage before we transport you to the Johannesburg airport, with an expected arrival between 5-6 pm. We wish you a safe journey!

Accommodation for the Tour

Your safari package includes two nights of accommodation with breakfast at a 3-star lodge in Hazyview. We will be staying at the Umbhaba Eco Lodge or a similar establishment.

Please note that the stated prices are per person based on double occupancy. For groups of three participants, separate bookings will need to be made—one for two individuals and another for the third person.

Flight and Transfer Schedules

For your outbound flight to South Africa, be aware that pick-up occurs at the O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, specifically at the Shuttle and Bus Terminal in the arrivals area between 6:45 am and 7 am, with departure to Hazyview at 7:15 am.

Consequently, your flight should arrive in South Africa no later than 5 am. To mitigate any potential delays, we recommend that you book a hotel stay in Johannesburg the night prior to your safari. This accommodation is your responsibility to arrange.

On the safari day, we can also pick you up at your hotel between 6:30 am and 6:45 am, as long as it is within a 5-kilometer (3-mile) radius from the airport.

On the tour's final day, we will return to Johannesburg between 5-6 pm. Once in the city, drop-off can be arranged at either the airport or a hotel located within 5 kilometers (3 miles) of the terminal. Therefore, if you have a departing flight from the O. R. Tambo International Airport, ensure not to book a national flight that leaves before 8 pm or an international one before 9 pm.
