Tour Overview
Our excursion starts with a pickup at your designated time, either from your accommodation in central Kraków or a nearby meeting place. After gathering the group, we’ll board a bus that will take us to O?wi?cim.
Auschwitz I is situated adjacent to this town in southern Poland, close to the Czech Republic's border. Upon arrival, we'll engage in a guided tour of this concentration camp for political dissidents. Throughout the visit to various prison blocks, we will witness the infamous starvation cells, where prisoners were left to succumb to hunger.
Following this initial segment, a brief pause will allow us to reflect on the harrowing experiences we have just encountered. Afterwards, we will proceed to the outskirts of O?wi?cim to explore Auschwitz II-Birkenau, the extermination facility established to implement what the Nazis termed the Final Solution to the Jewish problem.
Diving deeper into this complex, we'll observe the barracks for prisoners, the sanitary facilities, and the remnants of the crematoria alongside the gas chambers. Additionally, we will view the train tracks that delivered prisoners to Auschwitz, many of whom never had the chance to leave alive.
Throughout our exploration, discussions will center on World War II and its extensive social, economic, cultural, and political ramifications. We will also examine the significant historical occurrences that precipitated this devastating chapter of the 20th century.
The day concludes as we return to the original pickup location in Kraków, wrapping up a tour lasting between 7 to 7.5 hours.
Pickup Locations
During your reservation process, you'll find a dropdown menu listing various hotels and meeting spots in central Kraków. Should your accommodation not be listed, please select the nearest option available.
Be mindful that pickup times can vary, so it’s advisable to consider this when scheduling your day. Although you may indicate a preferred time when booking, it cannot be guaranteed. A confirmation email providing the exact pickup time will be sent to you the day prior to the tour.
Essential Information
- Visits to the site are strictly supervised by authorized camp guides. External guiding services are prohibited. The camp’s organization takes charge of guide assignments and language provisions.
- Each tour operator enforces a minimum group requirement to conduct the camp visit with a guide. Lack of sufficient participants may result in cancellation or rescheduling of the tour.
- Tickets are personal and non-transferable. Changes are allowed up to one time per reservation, affecting a maximum of 10% of attendees.
- Guides are assigned by the camp at 3 pm the day before the visit. Your reservation is not fully secured until a guide is allocated.
- Once the minimum group threshold is satisfied, tickets and a guide will be reserved. However, for last-minute bookings, guide allocation is not assured, which may lead to cancellation.

Important information
On the day of the activity, we'll meet you at the pickup point you chose during the booking process at the time indicated. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes in advance.
The pickup time may change, so you should take this into account when planning your trip. Even if you choose a departure time when you make your reservation, this time is not guaranteed, but we'll try to prioritize it. The exact pickup time will be confirmed via email the day before the activity.
Activity Restrictions
- Bags and backpacks larger than 30x20x10cm are not allowed in the field. They can be left on the bus or in the field locker.
- No person under the influence of alcohol will be allowed to ride the bus.
- Bringing food, having picnics, or littering in the camp is strictly prohibited. We kindly ask visitors to act with respect and common sense. Please remember that Auschwitz is a place where thousands of people lost their lives, and their memory deserves the utmost dignity.
Tour Lunch
During the tour, there are 2 or 3 stops of 10 to 15 minutes. We recommend bringing water with you. During the tour, you can also buy some cans or bottles at the stalls at the entrance of Auschwitz II-Birkenau.
Additional Info
- Due to the large number of visitors, the schedule may be modified. Please, it's essential that you have your mobile device fully operational in case of any such change.
- Visits to the camp are only permitted with guides authorized by the camp. External guides are not allowed. Guide assignments, including language availability, are managed solely by the camp's organization.
- All tour operators require a minimum group size to access the camp with a guide. If the minimum isn’t met, the activity may be canceled or rescheduled.
- We reserve your tickets and assign a guide as soon as the minimum group size is met. But for last-minute bookings, a guide may not be available, and the activity could be canceled.
- However, if there is any change in the departure time of the excursion, we'll notify you at least 15 to 24 hours before the activity.
Required Documentation
In accordance with the requirements of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum, all participants must bring a photo ID with the same names used on the reservation. Entrance may be denied if the name on the reservation does not match the name on the ID.
