Auschwitz-Birkenau Private Day Trip
Description
Explore the somber history of World War II with this private day excursion to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp originating from Kraków.
Details of the Day Trip
Upon your booking, you can select between the following two private day excursions from Kraków:
Auschwitz-Birkenau Day Excursion
Your day begins with a pick-up from your accommodation in Kraków between 6 and 8 am as we embark towards Auschwitz-Birkenau. In just over an hour, we will arrive at what served as the largest extermination camp by the Nazis during the Second World War. Recognized as a World Heritage Site since 1979, it stands as a somber reminder of the Holocaust's atrocities.
The tour begins in the prison blocks; here, various exhibitions offer insight into the harsh punishments inflicted upon prisoners for minor infractions or simply for the whims of SS guards. We will then move towards one of the camp's most harrowing sections: the gas chambers and cremation area, where we will uncover the depths of the regime’s brutality and the terrifying influence of political propaganda that led to these heinous acts.
Continuing our exploration, we will encounter the most recognized aspects of this chilling site. Witness the train tracks that brought thousands of individuals to their fate; upon arrival, some found themselves selected for immediate extermination, while others were subjected to medical experiments. The camp became the final resting place for Jews, Romani people, Spanish Republicans, political dissidents, and homosexuals.
As we progress, we will view the barracks, latrines, and the remnants of four crematoriums, which were dismantled in an effort to erase the evidence of the atrocities committed at Auschwitz-Birkenau. At the end of the visit, you will have 45 minutes to have lunch independently before we head back to Kraków, completing our journey after approximately six and a half hours.
Auschwitz-Birkenau, Kraków Ghetto, and Schindler's Factory
If you select this option, we will likewise begin with a pick-up from your hotel in Kraków, taking you first to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp to delve into its heartbreaking history.
During our visit, we will pause at the Judenrampe, a grim reminder of the ramp utilized by the SS until 1944 to forcibly "unload" Jewish individuals brought from various corners of Europe.
We will return to Kraków around 1:30 pm, stopping at a traditional Polish restaurant for lunch on your own. Following your meal, we'll continue our journey at approximately 2:45 pm with a private tour in English through the Kraków Ghetto, where we will observe the locations that witnessed the segregation and persecution of the Jewish population.
Your next stop will be Oskar Schindler's Factory, where you can explore the site where hundreds of Jews were sheltered by Schindler, sparing them from almost certain demise.
After this profound experience, we will return you to your hotel in Kraków.
Note: This option is unavailable on Mondays, the first Tuesday of every month, and during holiday periods.

Important
- At the time of booking, you must have indicated your names as they appear on your ID cards. Otherwise, you may not be able to enter the place.
- According to Auschwitz rules, please note that in case you need to make changes to your reservation (whether it is a change of date, time, or name change), only one change can be made per reservation. In the case of changing names, only a maximum of 10% of the names can be changed, that is, if there are 20 attendees, only 2 names can be changed.
- In the option combining Auschwitz and Oskar Schindler's Factory, on the day of the activity, you'll have to pay the price of the tickets to the guide so that he can buy them.
- Due to the large number of visitors, the schedule may be modified. It's important that you have your mobile phone fully operational in case of any changes of this kind.
- The visit to the camp can only take place with qualified guides from the camp and not with external guides. The confirmation of the guide is only guaranteed 12-16 hours before the activity.
- All operators require a minimum group size to be able to access the camp with a guide, so sometimes, if this is not reached, the activity may be cancelled or rescheduled.
- We reserve tickets and secure a guide as soon as the minimum group size is met. However, for last-minute bookings, guide availability cannot be guaranteed, and the activity may be subject to cancellation.
- However, if there is any change in the departure time of the excursion, we'll notify you at least 15-24 hours before the activity.
Changes to the Number of Participants
For group bookings of more than 10 people, you may only add up to 10% of the original group size after the reservation is confirmed. For example, if your reservation is for 6 people and you want to add 3 more, that’s fine. However, if your group is between 10 and 19 people, only one additional participant can be added. For groups of 20 to 29, only two extra people can be added.
Please note that canceling and attempting to rebook for a larger group does not guarantee availability. It is highly unlikely that Auschwitz will approve a new reservation for a larger number of participants on nearby dates.
Once a private tour with named tickets has been confirmed, the provider cannot change the time or cancel the tour.
