Auschwitz-Birkenau Day Trip

Your journey will commence with a pickup from your Kraków hotel between 6 and 8 am, followed by a drive of just over an hour to reach Auschwitz-Birkenau, known as the largest Nazi extermination camp during the Second World War. Recognized as a World Heritage Site since 1979, this significant location serves as a reminder of the atrocities of the Holocaust.

The tour will initiate in the prison blocks, where various exhibitions detail the harsh punishments faced by inmates, often inflicted for minor infractions observed by SS guards. We will progress to one of the camp's most harrowing areas: the gas chambers and cremation zones. Here, insights into the severity of the regime's violence will be revealed along with how ruthless political propaganda could drive individuals to perpetrate such horrific actions.

Continuing the tour, we’ll witness the camp's most recognized segment, including the tracks that facilitated the arrival of thousands. Following the train's stop, individuals were selected for immediate execution or subjected to medical experimentation. Victims included Jews, Gypsies, Spanish Republicans, political prisoners, and LGBTQ+ individuals.

Next, views of the barracks, latrines, and the remnants of four crematoria will be available, all of which were demolished in an attempt to obscure the camp's history from Soviet forces. The visit concludes with 45 minutes allocated for lunch before we return to Kraków, arriving back at your hotel after an approximately six-and-a-half-hour experience.

Auschwitz-Birkenau, Kraków Ghetto, and Schindler's Factory

Selecting this option, we will similarly start with your hotel pickup in Kraków, en route to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp to delve into its haunting narrative.

After exploring the camp, we will pause at the Judenrampe, the grim site where the SS unloaded Jews from various European countries until 1944.

Around 1:30 pm, we will return to Kraków, with a stop at a traditional Polish eatery for lunch at your leisure. Post-lunch, around 2:45 pm, a private English tour of the Kraków Ghetto will commence, where you will visit areas targeted by the Nazis during their persecution of the Jewish community.

Your next destination will be Oskar Schindler's Factory, where you will explore the site that employed hundreds of Jews, whom Schindler endeavored to protect from an almost inevitable death.

Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Kraków.

Comprehensive Auschwitz-Birkenau Tour

Selecting this choice, you will be picked up at your Kraków hotel and accompanied by a knowledgeable English-speaking guide throughout your excursion.

The initial stop will be Auschwitz I, where a guide who speaks Polish will assist you, complemented by an English-speaking interpreter. A guided tour of Auschwitz II-Birkenau follows.

Following this, we will visit the Judenrampe at Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Afterwards, our route will take us through the town of Oswiecim, where you will see the Market Square from the vehicle.

Ultimately, we will pay a visit to the Auschwitz III-Monowitz memorial before concluding our tour with a return to your hotel in Kraków, wrapping up an experience spanning 7 hours and 40 minutes.

Group Size, Guides, & Documentation

• During the booking process, ensure the name provided matches exactly with your ID. Any discrepancies will hinder your entrance to the Auschwitz site.
• Visits to the camp are restricted to official guides sanctioned by the museum. External guides are not permitted. Confirmation for the guide will be sent 12 to 16 hours prior to the activity.
• The tour mandates a minimum group size to access the camp with a guide; failure to meet this may result in cancellation or rescheduling of the activity.
• Once the minimum group is met, tickets and guides will be secured, but late bookings may encounter availability issues. Cancellation is possible under such circumstances.

Should these alternatives not be suitable, cancellation without penalty is possible, allowing the option to join a group tour, which is typically more readily available.
