Trip Overview

During your stay in Krakow, visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau is essential. This site stands as a poignant reminder of history, designed for reflection and learning about a grave period in the 20th century. At the planned time, we’ll collect you from your accommodation and begin our journey to this significant location.

Your experience will be enjoyed in a small group of no more than 12 people. We will travel to the town of O?wi?cim, where the extermination camp was located, claiming the lives of over 1 million individuals. Upon arrival, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the outdoor exhibitions at your leisure.

Following this, we’ll gather to enter the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. Here, we’ll encounter the barracks, latrines, railway tracks featuring the old train cars used to transport prisoners, and the remnants of the crematoria and gas chambers. As we proceed, we’ll also pass beneath the notable “Arbeit Macht Frei” sign, which translates to “work sets you free,” prominently situated at the camp's entrance.

After gaining insight into how the “Final Solution” was executed under Nazi authority to eradicate Europe’s Jewish population, we’ll return to the bus for our trip back to Krakow.

Your day trip will conclude at your lodging after approximately 7.5 hours.

Before finalizing your booking, please consider the following:

Required Documentation

• The first and last names on your reservation must correspond with the national ID documents you present on the day of the activity. Discrepancies will result in denied entry. If multiple reservations are made, there is a chance that you may not be grouped together or placed on the same vehicle.
• The tickets are non-transferable, allowing only one change per reservation, which can affect no more than 10% of the group.

Guided Experience

• Visits to the camp can only be led by guides authorized by the camp itself, meaning external guides are not permitted. Guide assignments and languages are solely determined by the camp’s organization; in some cases, a translation in the chosen language may be provided. The duration and pace of the visit are also dictated by the camp and may be adjusted due to extreme weather conditions (such as heat waves or storms).
• A minimum group size is required for access to the field with a guide; if this size isn't met, tours may be canceled or rescheduled.
• The camp will confirm the guide assignment at 3 pm the day prior to your visit, meaning that your reservation only becomes valid once a guide has been allocated. We reserve entry slots and a guide as soon as the minimum group size is reached; however, for last-minute bookings, guide availability may be an issue, and cancellations could occur. It's crucial to maintain a reachable phone number provided in your reservation for any potential updates.

Timing

The pickup time may vary. The tour can commence anytime between 5 am and 1:30 pm; thus, the scheduled time on the website is not guaranteed. The specific pickup time or meeting location will be communicated the preceding day via email, WhatsApp, and other means. Should there be changes to the departure time, we will inform you. If no changes are necessary, you should expect the originally planned time to be upheld. Please arrange your day, ensuring it aligns with the pickup timeframe. Transportation will be organized through bus or minibus, contingent on group size.
