Ojców National Park Excursion
Our journey begins with a pick-up from your Kraków hotel at the scheduled time, followed by a brief journey north towards Ojców National Park. Expect around 30 minutes of scenic travel in our minibus.
Throughout this excursion, we will navigate through the park, stopping at various points of interest that highlight its many wonders. Be prepared to soak in the vast valleys and observe the diverse flora and fauna that inhabit this area. The park is enchanting especially as it hosts over 130 species of birds, along with sightings of stoats and beavers during our tour.
Our first major destination is the remains of Ojców Castle, a Gothic stronghold erected in the 14th century by King Casimir III the Great. Here, you will discover its historical significance as a defender of the region and understand its role as a medieval bastion. The site presents breathtaking views overlooking the Pradnik River.
Continuing our exploration, we will encounter the iconic Cudgel of Hercules, a magnificent stone column soaring nearly 25 meters high. Along with the Krakow Gate, this landmark symbolizes the national park.
The tour proceeds to the Pieskowa Skala Castle, a remarkable Renaissance edifice built atop a limestone ridge. Here, you will stroll through its exquisite gardens and beautifully appointed rooms that now showcase a significant exhibition from the National Art Collection of Krakow.
To conclude our outing, we will visit the enchanting Chapel on the Water, a quaint wooden parish church that exudes charm.
Your experience wraps up as we return you to your hotel, marking the completion of a fulfilling 6-hour excursion.
