Batu Caves Day Trip
Description
Just 40 minutes from Kuala Lumpur, this Batu Caves day trip takes in some of the most famous sanctuaries in Malaysia in one unmissable excursion.
Batu Caves Day Trip
Having picked you up at your hotel in Kuala Lumpur at the designated time, we begin our day trip heading to a pewter workshop. This material, made of copper, tin and lead, is a flexible material by which craftsmen for hundreds of years have used to make products limited only by the human imagination. You can, for example, see the largest pewter beer jug in the world.
After visiting the factory, we will continue our route to a local factory of Batik fabrics, one of the most thriving and prominent craft industries in the area.
The route will then continue to the Batu Caves, where we will stay for an hour. We'll find a series of grottoes and caverns that stretch atop a sacred hill, constituting the most famous Hindu sanctuary in Asia outside of India.
To reach the interior of the caves, you'll have to climb 272 steps: but this effort is worth it, with the caves themselves lined with sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses, each one stunning in its careful ornamentation.
Then, as we descend again, we'll learn about the story of the great Murugan golden statue. This colossal sculpture of the god of war and victory, 42 meters high, bears a miraculous story, constructed as it was upon hilly terrain. A marvel in itself!
Then, with the guided tour of the Batu Caves over, we'll return to your hotel in Kuala Lumpur, where we'll conclude this 3.5-hour day trip.

The ascent up the 272 steps to the Batu Caves is not recommended for those with poor physical condition or who easily get out of breath.
