Malacca Day Trip
Description
The historical city of Malacca, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and once a Portuguese colony, showcases a rich heritage worth exploring. This full-day tour offers an in-depth look into the captivating past of this significant destination, departing from Kuala Lumpur.
Trip Overview
At the specified time, you will be collected from your accommodation in Kuala Lumpur for a scenic drive towards Malacca, one of the country's oldest cities.
After approximately 2 hours on the road, we will reach the city’s historic area, where a guided exploration of Malacca's center awaits. Our first stop will be St. Peter's Church, the oldest Roman Catholic church in Malaysia. Following this, we will delve into the Portuguese influence at the Santiago Gate, the last remnant of the old fortress of A Famosa.
Next, our journey takes us to the Malacca Museum and the picturesque Red Square, known for its array of stunning crimson buildings. The Christ Church is particularly noteworthy here, making this site an excellent spot to further explore the intriguing history of Malacca.
We'll then enjoy a traditional Malaysian lunch at a local restaurant. After our meal, the tour continues to Jonker Street, famous for its shops, and we will also visit the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, the oldest Buddhist temple in the country.
To conclude our visit, we will take a leisurely stroll along the river before heading back to Kuala Lumpur, with an estimated return to your hotel around 10 hours after departure.
Optional Tour Without Lunch
If you prefer to explore dining options on your own in Malacca, you can opt for the tour without lunch. This choice grants you an hour of free time to enjoy a meal while the other participants dine at the restaurant.
