Fushimi Inari Hidden Hiking Tour
Description
Embark on an alternative journey to explore one of Kyoto's most cherished landmarks with our premier guided hiking adventure to the Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine.
Fushimi Inari Hiking Experience
Starting at your preferred meeting time at Tofukuji Station, we will commence our stroll through the streets of Kyoto, following an off-the-beaten-path route leading to the renowned Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine, situated approximately 20 minutes away.
Upon reaching our destination, a 5-kilometre (3 mile) guided hiking experience will unfold, where we will delve into the history of this Shinto shrine, established in 711 AD. Did you know this shrine honors the Shinto kami, the spirit linked to rice and sake? During our exploration of Fushimi Inari-Taisha, we will uncover the rich traditions and beliefs of Japanese spirituality.
The enchanting scenery surrounding the shrine is equally captivating. As we journey along the trails, expect to discover lush bamboo groves and a charming Inari Shrine tucked away near Fushimi Inari. We will navigate paths that are often overlooked by crowds, ensuring a genuine experience amidst serene nature!
Following our hike, we will wander through the iconic Torii gates that were featured in the film Memoirs of a Geisha - a must-visit while in Kyoto. This evocative pathway will lead us to the summit of Fushimi Inari-Taisha, where we can savor a breathtaking panoramic view of Kyoto.
Typically, our 3-hour journey wraps up around the main shrine, although the specific route may differ.
