Sake Distillery Tour + Tasting
Description
Are you ready to explore the intriguing world of sake in Japan? Join us on this journey through 3 distilleries in Nada, where we will unravel the rich history and hidden secrets of this age-old beverage. You'll also have the opportunity to savor a sampling of remarkable flavors and scents.
Tour Overview
We will gather at the specified time at Uozaki Station in Kobe to kick off our Nada sake exploration, a region renowned for its contribution to this beloved drink. Our adventure begins with a leisurely stroll along charming streets, where we will first take in the notable Sakura-Masamune and Kenbishi distilleries, two of the most historical establishments in Japan.
Our initial destination will be the Kiku-Masamune distillery, established in 1659, celebrated for its artisanal methods including taruzake, sake that has been matured in wooden barrels. If possible, we will have the chance to see artisans creating these barrels by hand. During our one-hour visit, you'll enjoy a sample of this classic sake alongside your choice of 2 out of 6 premium varieties.
As we progress through our itinerary, we’ll visit the Sake Hakutsuru Museum, the largest sake distributor in Nada. There, we will explore the interactive exhibits while discussing the various tools and machinery displayed. This stop will also feature a tasting, focused on 2 styles of Daiginjo. It promises to be a delightful experience!
Following our hour-long stay at the museum, we will proceed to Nada Go Go Sake Tokoro, formerly a production facility for Kenbishi, one of Japan's most esteemed sake brands. Here, we’ll conclude our tour with an enriching sake tasting, where you will sample 3 specially selected types, perfectly complemented by a snack.
To wrap up our time together, we will stroll to Mikage Station, where we will bid farewell after approximately 3.5 to 4.5 hours.
