Activity Details

We will pick you up at your hotel in La Fortuna and commence with a scenic 25-minute drive via Routes 142 and 141. The route takes us through the breathtaking Arenal mountains. Thus begins our expedition into the wild jungles of Costa Rica!

Upon reaching the Peñas Blancas River, we will participate in a brief safety briefing before embarking on the rafts to start gliding smoothly across the calm river waters. With no motor noise to disrupt the atmosphere, we can truly appreciate the soothing sounds of the river and the paddles slicing through the water. Keep your ears open for the calls of howler monkeys hidden in the lush canopy!

As our journey progresses, we will actively search for toucans and various exotic Central American birds perched among the trees. If fortune favors us, we may catch a glimpse of a crocodile resting by the riverbank or turtles basking in the sun. Prepare your cameras to capture these moments!

Our navigation will last between 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours, during which we’ll share fascinating insights about the Peñas Blancas River and the significant ecological value of Costa Rica’s central region.

Following our rafting adventure, we’ll return to the launch site and proceed to the nearby La Cocina de Tita Yolanda restaurant. Here, we will relish a snack that includes a cheese tortilla, a plantain, and coffee. This will also be an opportunity to discover the chocolate creation process, culminating in a delightful tasting.

Finally, we will return to La Fortuna, ensuring you are back at your hotel following a total of 4.5 hours of exploration.
