Snowshoeing in Collados del Asón
At the scheduled time, we will gather at the official car park of Collados del Asón Natural Park. Here, we will discuss the route details and equip ourselves with the necessary gear for this expedition.
Once our preparations are complete, we will embark on a guided snowshoe trek across the mesmerizing landscapes of Collados del Asón. This region showcases the breathtaking beauty of the Cantabrian Mountains during winter, making it a truly captivating destination.
As we traverse the Asón valley, recognized for its striking limestone formations, we will meander through quaint beech and Cantabrian holm oak woods.
Our journey will also take us through pastoral meadows where livestock roam, and we will encounter magnificent limestone cliffs, referred to as labyrinths. Curious why they have this name? Join us to unravel the mystery!
Eventually, after completing a circular route that spans approximately 5 hours, we will return to our starting point.

Timetable and meeting point
10 minutes before the indicated time, you must be at the following point in La Gándara (Cantabria): car park of the Collados del Asón Natural Park. Please be punctual.

Compulsory equipment
To do this activity, you must bring the following compulsory equipment:
- Waterproof or layered warm clothing
- Waterproof boots
- Gloves
- Hat
- Bag with spare dry clothes
- A rucksack containing: a litre of water, lunch, spare gloves, sun cream, sunglasses and a plastic bag to store your belongings
- Before the activity, each member of the group will be checked to ensure that they have the equipment described above
Health issues
If you have any health problems prior to the activity, you must inform the guide.
Cancellation of the activity
This activity will be cancelled if the weather conditions are adverse or if the preparation or clothing is inadequate.
